Classes Offered by JHC

JHC offers a wide range of classes, some of
which are pre-determined by JHC others are designed by the customer. The
following classes are offered by JHC:
Solid Edge
Intro
–
This
class is designed for the new user of Solid Edge. It covers all the major
topics in the four areas of the Solid Edge product: 1) Part, 2) Sheet Metal, 3)
Assembly, and 4) Draft. The class offers labwork sections and a specialized
class document. This class is offered 4 or 5 days – per customer request. The
extra class day gives the student the ability to practice the techniques they
have been learning all week.
Plastics, Castings and Forgings –
This
class is designed for the users who creates plastic, casts or forged parts, or
molds and dies for these types of parts. This class is 2 days in length. The
class includes lectures on using parting lines, using draft, rounding,
construction surfaces and the new Plastics Plus commands designed. The class
covers the specialized problems the plastics/castings/forging designer will
face. Many hours are dedicated to insuring the students walk away from the
class knowing how to use Solid Edge in their everyday job routine. Knowing what
to do is as important as knowing what not to do. This class offers labwork
sections and class document. Prerequisite: Successful completion of any Intro
level class.
Advanced Sheet Metal –
This
class is designed for the users who create sheet metal parts that are more
complex than boxes with all bends at 90 degrees. This class is 2 days in
length. The class includes lectures on creating cuts across complex bends, the
commands that create lofted parts, louvers, dimples and many others. The goal
with the sheet metal training is to create a part that gives a valid flat
pattern. This class offers labwork sections and class document. Prerequisite:
Successful completion of any intro level class.
Advanced Assembly –
This
class is designed for the users who work with assemblies in Solid Edge and need
to know more than the basics that are taught in the Intro type classes. This
class is 2 days in length. Topics for this class include using construction
elements to relate parts, creating parts in place, creating sub-assemblies in
place, managing parts in assemblies, and many others. This class offers labwork
sections and a class document. Prerequisite: Successful completion of any intro
level class
Working With Variational Profiles –
This
class is designed for the user who needs to become proficient at creating
fully-constrained variational profiles. This class may be taken by anyone, but
it is primarily designed for the user who has never created variational
geometry and finds the relationship idea confusing. This class is one day in
length. Topics in this class include how to use all types of relationships,
working with variable tables and using reference planes to control models. This
class offers labwork sections and a class document. Prerequisite: Successful
completion of any intro level class.

Advanced Drawing Sheet –
This
class is designed for the users who needs to do more with the Draft mode of
Solid Edge than place 3D models and detail these models. This class is 2 days
in length. The class includes lectures on creating mechanical template files,
creating electrical template files, creating 2D files, importing data from
other systems and many other topics. This class offers labwork sections and a
class document. Prerequisite: Successful completion of any intro level class.
Version 7 Upgrade Seminar –
This
class is designed for the users of Solid Edge who need to learn what is new in
V8. This class is 1 day in length. The class includes lectures and
demonstrations on all new interfaces, command and procedures in Solid Edge
Version 8. This class does not have any labwork sections, but is does have
class documentation. Prerequisite: Current users of Solid Edge.
Version 8 Upgrade Class –
This
class is designed for the users of Solid Edge who need to learn what is new in
V7. This class is 2 days in length. The class includes lectures and
demonstrations on all new interfaces, command and procedures in Solid Edge
Version 7. This class does have labwork sections so the student can actually try
new commands on his/her application. Class document is also included. : Current
users of Solid Edge.
Customized Training On-Site –
This
class is totally customized by JHC for a specific company. This class can be
any length. The class includes lectures on using whatever the customer wants to
cover. This class offers labwork with the customer's parts used in the training
document.

reserves the right to cancel any training class with a two-week notice. Any
fees collected by JHC on class canceled by JHC will be fully refunded to
customer.
