Who is John Haslam?
Why do business with
him?
John Haslam is the most experienced customized
trainer of Solid Edge. Haslam began his training career at Intergraph
Corporation in 1987. Currently in his 12th year as a mechanical design software
trainer and consultant, Haslam has logged more than 11,000 hours of in-class
training since 1987.
Haslam
left Intergraph Corporation in 1992 to start JHC. It was his goal to give
mechanical software users a customized training and consulting alternative that
had never been attempted before in CAD training and hasn't been duplicated
since. Haslam has developed a strong client base because of the JHC business
philosophy:
o
Give the customer
exactly what they need,
o
Provide the
services at a reasonable cost, and
o
Provide quality
service unmatched by others.
Before starting JHC, John worked in the Mechanical Division at Intergraph
Corporation (now part of the new Unigraphics Solutions Corporation) for five
years. Most of his in-class training experience has been at customer locations.
As a Senior System Consultant at Intergraph, John was responsible for
developing training classes and certifying other instructors for training.
Before joining Intergraph, John worked for a defense and space industry
contractor in Huntsville, AL. for five years. Some of the projects on which
John has worked include Space Station, Space Telescope, Solar Maximum Satellite
Rescue Mission, and Orbital Maneuvering Vehicle design and training.
John has also been involved in robotics development and research, as well as
Human Factors engineering, and the Ballistic Missile Defense program.
John developed his ideas for customized training and his business principles
after watching countless mechanical design software users struggle with
learning how to get productive with CAD software. John wants to teach his
customers more than the name of a button and where it can be located.
The
mechanical design software user must know "How" and "Why"
things work. He needs to know "When" certain things
should be tried. And most important of all, the software user must know "What
commands to stay away from in specific modeling scenarios."

Customized
Documentation
Haslam
also writes his own documents for Solid Edge training classes. Because he does
this, he can focus on specific material the customer needs to learn how to use.
If a customer is a sheet metal house, Haslam will not give them a book about
airplane wings.
